Title: Nighttime is the Hardest

Artist: Elise Tomlinson

Comments: This piece was painted shortly after the attacks on the US. Everyone around me was overwhelmed with grief and loss. I attempted to show how difficult it is to let someone go. How it can seem as though it will never get any easier. I envisioned the second figure (with the silver hair) to be seen more as the spirit of a loved one trying to comfort the living. It's set at night because when you are alone in the dark, is when the absence is felt the most.
